pretty nature to discover between the Gouffre de Promeyssac and Audrix.
about 14km walking = 4 hours.
Either sun or shade all the excursion long, and nice places to have a picnic. Half way, it’s possible to have a "pause-wee", and/or have a coffee or a fresh glass.
2nd path on your right when you go out of the campsite. You walk among the pastures. At the main road (D31) you take on the right and you walk, (fortunately not for a long time), along this road pretty busy.
Take the path bottom for your safety. At “stone” the SNCF PN 320 you cross towards the `Industrial Park `.
Continue to the railroad, cross it and take immediately on the right. (see indications 7,8 and 9).
Then climb the narrow path, it’s just after the lonesome rural house on the left side and the wood.
Walk along the small path beside the railroad. Halfway of this rise turn right.
The indications road 7 (in yellow: X, -, ↰ and ↱) guide you towards a hamlet. Take on the left after the first house on your right (whose could it be?).
Beware the dog, and think thoughly : "barking dog doesn’t bite ……………….
On the left we see laundries and with a piece of chance large pumpkins in the kitchen garden
There are also often asses. Attention, to the separation of the asphalt roads we go down via a badly stoned way (see indication 7 on the antenna)
On the left in front of the pretty house. Here there is a panoramic sight on Le Bugue. One sees well the white rocher de la Granelle, which gave its name to the camp-site.
A little further you pass a small source. Here there are often large dragonflies. After a small rise you turn left : « Chemin de Caumont ».
Do not take on the right towards the houses but continue straight! The way (pass the large rock on the right) becomes very narrow, but it takes you along to a particular place (to go there by the left is possible, goes then along the narrow way through the pasture and climbs the wall at the end.)
The amateurs of nature can have pleasure by looking at bilberries and with a little chance in the corner a garden of butterflies! They fly away from the corner when you pass!
Keep on the right and benefit from the surprising silence (stop to chat one minute, Ladies) Halfway “under wood” some fir trees drop from enormous apples of pin.
While leaving wood, after about fifty meters, (did you see the old plum tree on your right ?) you go direction LA CEPEDE. Benefit from the sight on the right side. When it’s asphalted road go on the left. You now cross a flowered hamlet.
With the crossing of the asphalted roads it is in front of you on the left the place where the Pit of Proumessac was discovered. Look at the photographs around “the elevator”. Go down a little towards the back-side from the Pit from Proumessac. There are tables of picnic, an exposure, it’s possible to drink a coffee etc… and there are toilets.
After « a short rest » back to the crossing for the following splendid and surprising road. Follow « Colombet » (you see this direction on the right whithin our walking direction).
In front of the pasture, turn left. Follow this way around the pasture and enter the forest : « Chemin de Colombet ».
Under the « T » crossing, climb left : « Chemin de Perdigat ».
On the right at the asphalted road ( don’t muddle by seeing indications of road 7 in opposite direction).
Behind the house on your right you turn left (7 and 8). Climb this way up to the asphalted road. Then left, direction the large pylon of antenna TV (visible from the camp-site), towards AUDRIX .
On the place of the village you can benefit from a picnic deserved well under the roof. Otherwise, the restaurant “Mediavalle Le Bourge’ could be a nice place for a little extra !
Follow the road along the place and of the church towards the animated road D31. There turn right and after approximately 50 meters, turn on the left, you descend the path badly stoned. Pay attention to the stones which roll under your feet!
After the dumpint-ground, the only negative point of this road, you turn right to the “T”crossing. You take the way in front of the turn.
Caution! In the middle of the old original walls out of stone,
you can see a "BORIE".
From the path, it looks like a "spot" in the wall. Jump the wall and look at the other side.
There you see small "borie" which was useful as shelter for the workmen when the weather was bad. The "borie" is built by piling up the stones in a certain way.
There is a little further one small entry in the wall. Enter there and after about 20 meters you see a relatively large borie original. "La Borie" is the name of the district where our camp-site is.
Keep going down up to the valley. Straight at the crossing to "La terrasse" (2.5km).
Arrived at the field in open country we pass around the hedge (and pillar with the green top) and you return on other side again into the wood. There you take on the right. You continue this road which goes about straight. Pay attention to the yellow indications.
Turn left near the pannels at « T » crossing direction "Le Bugue". You are closer from home that you think…. After some small descents and of course some rises, you again arrive on D31 as you already crossed during this excursion.
Turn right to Le Bugue. Think to safety and walk on the left side of the road or stay right side of the ditch. To the left after the little electrician house (also indicated « chambres d’hôtes »).
Now you cross the picturesque place says “the Terrace”. If there remains to you still a little energy, enter the small streets, admires the small houses and the small streets. All the ways meet together at the end.
You carry on and you arrive again at the railroad. You cross it and go immediately left.
Close to the animated road which leads you to Bugue you turn right and you take again the way towards the camp-site. Pretty, isn’t it?
